Willie Roberts

February 26, 1943 — May 7, 2020

North Las Vegas

Willie C. Roberts, 77 of North Las Vegas, NV,  made his transition from labor to reward on May 7, 2020 at his home in North Las Vegas.

Willie was born in Lisman, Alabama to Jesse P and Lucinda Roberts on February 26, 1943.

Willie or "DUB," as he was called by some, graduated and received his diploma from Choctaw County Training school in May 1962. On February 3, 2014, Willie met the love of his life, Freda. He became the love her life and they were united in matrimony four months later on June 13, 2014.  Willie was known as a jack of all trades; he worked in law enforcement, was a volunteer firefighter, toured with and was product manager for a famous blues/gospel singer. He was also a dock worker, worked his skills in mechanics as well as carpentry. Truly "a jack of all trades". He was member of the Masons organization; and in June 2015, he became a member of the Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Welton T. Smith III; where he remained a member until his transition.

Those who have transitioned before him are his parents: Jesse and Lucinda Roberts, three brothers: Jesse, Tommie and Lawrence Roberts, two sisters: Betty Watson and Floretta Roberts and step-son Sidney McKnight

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Freda J. Roberts, two sons: Alonzo Roberts of Lagrange, GA, Michael Roberts (Latrice) of Killeen, TX, two daughters both of Lagrange GA, Tanya Roberts (Larry), Tamara Coleman, two step-sons Deon and Tracy McKnight, three sisters: Florence Dixon of Las Vegas, Sadie Cade and Melvina Turner of Dayton, OH, 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

No service is scheduled and his final resting place will be the Love Ossuary located at the Davis Memorial Park on Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas.

Willie's wife, Freda would like to extend her greatest and sincerest thanks to Angel for always being there with and for him. To Krystal and all the team members of Compassion Care Hospice for your great care and concern during Willie's final days.
