Wilford Canida

Wilford Carl Canida, 85 years old of Las Vegas Nevada passed away on April 26, 2021 in Las Vegas. Carl was born in Valley City, Missouri to Herman T. and Elizabeth hall Canida on April 12, 1936 with two other triplet brothers.

He attended school in Valley City and enlisted in the Navy in 1957 and served in Vietnam.  He also served in 1991 in the Middle East in Desert Storm while in the Army National Guard. After 20 years of service he retired in 1996 from the military. Carl also retired from Global Marine, an underwater research and from the City of Las Vegas Parks and Recreation.

He was preceded in death by his father; Herman Canida, his mother,; Mary Hall Canida Ackerman, his step-father; Coygn Ackerman, Estalita Canida daughter Marie Canida Lepper, sisters; Hazel Canida Kreisel and Wilma June Brauer Canida; brothers; Floyde Canida, Lester Earl Canida, and Wilbur Claude Canida, Winford Carrol Canida, and five step-brothers; Clyde Ackerman, Lyle Ackerman, Floyd Ackerman, Donald Ackerman, and Robert Ackerman,

He is survived by; his wife Erlinda Canida, his sons; John L. Canida and daughter-in-law Colleen Canida, Munir Canida, sister; Mary Francis Heavner brother; Loyde Canida and his wife Carol Canida. step-brother; Jerry Ackerman sisters-in-law; Minnie Canida and Cathy Ackerman, and Bonnie Canida, Monna Canida Brauer; brothers-in-law; Ray Dean Brauer and Bob Kreisel, grandsons John J. Canida and Brenda Canida, Joseph Carl Canida, Jesse Raymond Canida and Arianna Canida, grandsons; Michael, Aiden, John, Phoenix, Carson, and Joel. Granddaughters, Natalie, Starlett, Manroe, and Eva, great grandson, Roskoh, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be held on Monday May 10, 2021 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Davis Funeral Home- Rainbow Chapel 1401 South Rainbow Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89146 and Graveside services will be held Monday May 10, 2021 1:20 PM Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Buchanan Blvd Boulder City, NV 89005.
