Timothy Stolar

July 16, 1958 — May 8, 2021

Timothy Stolar, 62, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on May 8, 2021. Tim was born in Dearborn, Michigan to Paul Stolar and Mildred (Cronovich) Stolar on July 16, 1958. He graduated from Annapolis High School in 1976. He then went on to play football at Kalamazoo college for 2 years before transferring to the University of Arizona in Tucson. There he received a Master of Science in genetics. Tim continued his education at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in California, graduating in 1991 with a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. In September of 1991, he married the love of his life and best friend Carol (Crapo) Stolar. They moved to southeastern Michigan where Tim completed his internship and residency in Family Practice. In 1994, they returned to their beloved southwestern United States, eventually settling in Las Vegas, Nevada where they raised their two daughters, Lillian and Rebecca. Tim was Board Certified in Family Practice and worked up until his diagnosis in November 2014.

Family was everything to Tim. He spent many years volunteering at his daughters’ schools, Girl Scout troops, and various other activities. He spent many hours on his hobby farm enjoying his horses, dogs, tortoise, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, and numerous feral cats. Tim loved to travel and any free time was spent on the road. His prefered method of travel across the United States was by car, visiting as many National Parks and zoos as possible. In the summer of 2015, Tim, his wife, his daughters, his father, his dog, and his daughter’s rabbit travelled Route 66 from Santa Monica to Chicago, making many memories along the way. Tim also enjoyed his many trips to Disneyland with his family, even making it to Walt Disney World in December 2016.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Paul, and his mother, Mildred. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his daughters, Lillian and Rebecca, and his brother, Paul.

A celebration of life for Tim will be held on May 29 in Phoenix, Arizona in addition to one in Michigan in the fall, date to be determined. The family asks that in lieu of flowers you make a donation in his name to his favorite zoo, Reid Park Zoo in Tucson, Arizona, where he spent countless hours with his family (reidparkzoo.org/donation/) or donate to your local animal rescue in his name.
