Obituary

Lucye Williams Madison was born in Arlington, Alabama on May 11, 1929. She was the 6th of 7 children born to Jacob and Lucy Ross. She attended and completed elementary and high school at Arlington Literary and Industrial in Arlington, Alabama. She attended one year of college at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; afterward, attending 4 years at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama where she became a registered nurse.

Lucye grew up during The Great Depression, very humble beginnings, so they quickly learned how to survive in very poor conditions, sometimes walking five miles to school, no shoes, in the rain. Life was tough and everyday was a depression day, but this made her strong. She lived everyday as if she had nothing and that what she had always giving it to others before herself. She never met anyone she did not like. I never met anyone who did not like her! She was the most kindhearted, selfless, warm, and sweetest human being that you would ever want to meet.

Lucye came to California in 1955 and worked at three L.A. County facilities for a total of 33 years. In 1965 she came to know and love Jehovah and dedicated her life to him symbolized by water baptism and came to be identified as one of Jehovah’s witnesses. She remained faithful to Jehovah until her sunrise on March 15, 2021 at 91 years young.

Lucye never did get an opportunity to treat herself to something nice until she retired. The 1st on her bucket list was pioneering, 2nd was to travel which thanks to her nephew who works with the airlines she did travel. The first was Bethal, then Israel, 4 times Hawaii and 7 other countries. Finally enjoying the fruits of her harvest, she also worked one week in Seldom worked territory in Montana.

Lucye leaves precious memoires behind to cherish to her beloved and only child her son, John Lee Williams Sr, and his wife of 46 years, Linda Williams. Lucye leaves two grandchildren and their families, (Latoya Williams as well) and (Ishmael T. Willams.) She also leaves eight great grandchildren, six nieces, two nephews Wilfred and Pat and their families. Her entire spiritual family of brothers and sisters, relatives, and friends alike. Not to exclude the recent loss of her daughter Judy and her grandson, John Jr. to whom she will join at the resurrection.
