Jamie Yang

November 9, 1981 — February 14, 2021

Our beautiful, spirited Jamie Lynn (Libby) Yang was taken from us on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2021, 3 days after bringing her precious baby boy into this world.

Born November 9th, 1981, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Debra Lynn (Kacer) Libby, now Williams, and William Albert Libby, Jr. (deceased), Jamie grew up in Illinois, where most of her family and many special friends continue to live. Her family moved a lot while her mom worked and went to school. Always smiling, Jamie made friends easily in church, school, and social activities. She attended Midwest Central High School in Manito. James Miller, Jamie's 19-year-old son, and Jason Mason, her older brother, continue to live in Illinois. Jamie and her older sister Amanda relocated their families to Las Vegas, Nevada, in July 2014, near their mom and stepfather, Robert Williams.

While an independent spirit, she cherished her family and loved the Lord. Jamie was held precious as a mother, wife, sister, and daughter. She had a heart of gold with a beautiful, loving, and giving spirit and always there when needed. Her vibrant personality brought fun and laughter. She had always been a leader. She withstood many hardships, tragedies, trials, and tribulations but walked through the fire to grow to be a strong young woman standing on her own and helping lift others. Honest to a fault, but not mean, she said what she thought – no matter the station of the person she was speaking to. She valiantly fought for others and her beliefs. She worked hard to provide for her family and was saving for her dream of buying a home. She loved her Walmart family and many of her customers. She was a dedicated, hard worker and was looking forward to having her own store. She worked full shifts until her baby's birth on February 11th and planned to resume her climb toward store manager after returning from maternity leave.

Jamie only spent one precious night with her three sons, 16-year-old Damian, 10-year-old Austin, and 2-day-old Jeremiah before being rushed to Spring Valley Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada, twice the following day, never seeing her 5-year-old little girl Rayne. She died the next morning in the ICU while her husband, Mengbi Yang, her mom, and Amanda kept vigil by her side.

Amanda (Libby) Hill was always by Jamie's side as her sister, partner in crime, and best friend. Jamie's children have always been part of Amanda's heart, and she has made her home their home as well. She is ensuring Jamie's children continue to be in a loving, close-knit family while searching for a larger home. Jamie will know her children are happy and well-taken care of. Her daughter Rayne is living close to her brothers with her daddy, and they will continue the family unit so important to Jamie.

Jamie loved doing things as a family plus special activities with each of the kids and her sister such as playing video games, going to the drive-in, Hair and Nail Salons, and out to eat. Her adventurous spirit helped her cut loose. She loved Harleys and could be seen driving down the Las Vegas streets or the open road with her kids, her sister, her mom, or by herself in her beloved 2015 Camero convertible, singing with her music blaring and her long hair flying free in the wind.

Jamie's body is resting at Davis Funeral Home – Rainbow Chapel, awaiting family and friends gathering from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. for a catered reception, viewing, and service on Friday, March 12th, 2021.
