Frank Maione

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Frank Maione on Tuesday December 22, 2020.  Frank was born September 19, 1945 in Malito, Italy.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; Teresa and Luigi Maione and siblings Maria and Guisippina.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Mary of 53 years, children Louie and wife Elizabeth, grandchildren Michael, Carla, Isabella and Luigi; Peter and wife Stefanie, grandchildren Emily and Francesca; Carla and husband Aaron, grandchildren Mary, Sophia and Angelina; and son, Frank, Jr.  Also, surviving Frank are his siblings Tony Maione, Emma Petrovich, Ralph Maione and Piera DiNoto, and many nieces and nephews.

Frank accomplished much in his years upon his arrival to Canada from Italy in 1957. He was an entrepreneur. His love for life led him down many paths. From working in the frigid winters of Winnipeg, to opening up a nightclub, to the sunny hills of California where he had numerous restaurants. He then retired and moved to las Vegas.

He was passionate about soccer from playing semi-pro in Canada to coaching high school soccer in California.  He won many titles including the state championship for California.  Known as “Coach Frank” or “Silver Fox” his guidance and sheer determination lives on in his student’s hearts.  His passion touched those around him and continued throughout his life.

There was nothing Frank was more passionate about than his family and nine grandchildren.  He was very proud to be surrounded and deeply loved by each of his best friends.  His legacy will continue to live on through each of them.

Thank you for being a major part of so many people’s childhood memories.  You are indescribable.  We love you Dad.  Thank you, for teaching us that anything is possible; you will be deeply missed every single day.  You are a legend Nonno.
