Angelo Mario Cerrone of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on April 27, 2021. Born December 13, 1925 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Angelo moved to the Bronx as a young child. Drafted into the U.S. Navy during WWII, he was awarded 3 medals for his service in the Pacific as a Seaman First Class. Returning home, he married Jean Morandi in 1952 and lived in the Bronx until 1962 when they moved to Long Island.
Angelo was a dedicated family man, hard-working employee, baseball enthusiast, and life-long Yankee fan. He worked for the NYC Sanitation Dept. for 30 years, and 11 years at Cherry Lane Printing in Plainview, NY, before relocating to Las Vegas in 1988. At 90-years old, Angelo was honored as Volunteer of the Year for his work with Toys for Smiles – a lovely reflection of his smiling face and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Angelo is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean, as well as his parents, Frances Marsicano Cerrone and Philip H. Cerrone Sr., and brothers, Michael and Philip Jr. Angelo is survived by his loving children, Carol (Michael), Peter (Dawn), and Charles (Alyson), along with 5 wonderful grandchildren, Kara, Meghan, Sean, Jennifer and Christina.
