Alonzo Ceniceros, Jr.

June 7, 1954 — December 2, 2020

Alonzo Aureliano Ceniceros, Jr. - musician, singer, and long-time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada died unexpectedly on December 2, 2020, from complications with COVID-19.  He was just 66 years old.

Although Alonzo never married or had children, he was beloved by many.  He was a father, brother, and friend to all that knew him.  To know him was indeed to love him, he was a unique and multi-faceted personality.  He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Herlinda Ceniceros, his father Aureliano Ceniceros, Sr. and his brother Joe Ceniceros, Sr.  He is survived by his sisters Mary Feeney and Gloria Jean Flynn and his brother Humberto “Sonny” Ceniceros.  He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews Joe Ceniceros, Jr., Steve Ceniceros, Andy Ceniceros, Wendy Sue Feeney, Colleen Cummings, Joseph Ceniceros, Cindy Rodriguez, Linda Vargas, Santino Telles, Chris Henderson, Andy Ridenour.

Alonzo was born June 7, 1954, in El Paso, Texas.  He graduated from Burgess High School and then attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he studied music.  Alonzo was a jack of all trades and dappled in many career circles, always working to embolden his true passion of playing drums and singing by night.  He was a musician always in his heart.

Alonzo was a jokester with a soft spot for any child or animal.  He loved cracking jokes, playing pranks, and acting like a teenager, no matter what his age.  He was the uncle that threw you around and did underwater ballet with you in the pool.  He was the friend that always had a smart remark loaded to make you laugh, but he was also a sweet and caring father-figure who always had you on his mind.  He was funny, smart, opinionated, and above all, caring and lovable.  When he cocked his head and squinted at you, you would either laugh, hug him or chidingly pat him for being ornery.

Alonzo will be missed and remembered by many.  Please take a moment to honor him with a favorite memory or picture.  You can also plant a tree in his name through the Davis Funeral Home website.  Thank you and God bless.

We love you, Chuta...fare thee well until we meet again.
