WILLIAM 'Bill' LUNA 9/12/51 - 9/19/2026

Bill Luna, 75, dealt his last game on Saturday September 19, 2026 after an 8 year courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Brooklyn New York, he was the son of the late William and Rose Luna. He was a 1969 graduate from St. Bernard's High School in CT and went on to be an apprentice at Electric Boat in Groton. After a few years, he became interested in the auto dealership business. Bill went on to become a general sales manager of a large dealership in Clinton CT where he spent many years. When a new casino was being built in Ledyard CT, Bill decided to change careers and opened Foxwoods Resort and Casino in 1992 which began his 27 year career in the gaming business. He met his future wife Shelley at Foxwoods. Bill and Shelley went on a vacation to Las Vegas in November 2004 to see one of their favorite artists, Boz Scaggs. While in Vegas, they saw that a new casino was being constructed and upon their return to CT, they applied for a position at Wynn Las Vegas as floor supervisors where they were both hired. They moved to Vegas in April of 2005. Bill retired from the Wynn in 2019.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Shelley, three children - Stacie (David), Billy (Laura) and Rob. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His sister Margaret Luna, niece Kristi. Sister-in-law Joyce Boyle, Nephew Mark (Jane), Niece Nicole (Carlos) and four great-nephews. His many dear friends will forever remember his friendship, kindness and sense of humor. 

Bill was an avid golfer, a passionate fan of UCONN Women's Basketball and perhaps the most dedicated Yankees fan you could ever meet. 

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Hospice 1Care for their heartfelt compassion in taking care of Bill.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2026, 1:00pm, at Davis Funeral Homes, 1401 South Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas NV 89146 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
