Ronald George Stiscak, 65, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on June 23, 2026, after a courageous nine-year battle with kidney cancer. Throughout his journey, Ron faced every challenge with remarkable strength, determination, and unwavering love for those around him.
Born on August 4, 1960, in Hammond, Indiana, Ron was the beloved son of George and Margaret (Koselke) Stiscak. On October 25, 2001, he married the love of his life and soulmate, Gina (Settembrini). Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and an unbreakable partnership.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Gina; his children, Billie (Jeff) Timmons, Ronald Stiscak Jr., and Danielle (Chris) Lewis; his grandchildren, Hudsyn Timmons, Rowan Lewis, and Rhett Lewis; his brothers, Robert (Cristina), Dave, George Jr. (Erica), and Michael (Linda); his mother-in-law, Virginia Settembrini; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Michael Settembrini, Mark (Jennifer) Settembrini, and Angie (Jim) Tate; and several nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Angelo Settembrini.
Ron built a successful career with Bob Evans Farms Restaurants, where his strong work ethic and leadership led him to become a Regional Manager. He later continued his career with Maury Abrams LLC as a Maintenance Manager until his retirement. Throughout his professional life, Ron mentored many managers and employees, leaving a lasting impact on their lives and forming lifelong friendships along the way.
Ron will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but also for the extraordinary legacy he leaves behind. During his illness, he participated in numerous clinical trials through City of Hope in California. His willingness to pursue experimental treatments reached far beyond his own fight, helping researchers develop therapies that have gone on to seek FDA approval and bring hope to thousands of cancer patients around the world. His courage and selflessness were a gift to countless families he would never meet—a lasting testament to the kind of man he was.
Beyond his courageous battle, Ron embraced life with joy, laughter and enthusiasm. He was known for his warm smile, quick humor, positive attitude and ability to lift the spirits of those around him. He loved traveling, especially to Florida, and found peace and happiness on the water - whether he was vacationing by the ocean or boating, or simply watching the sun set. He had a lifelong love of sports, especially football. He was also the biggest fan of his family and friends, cheering them on with pride and unwavering support. Gifted with his hands, Ron rarely met a mechanical problem he could not solve. Ron enjoyed spirited political discussions, never shying away from a lively debate. Ron had a gift for motivating others, always offering praise, thoughtful advice, and genuine encouragement when it was needed most.
Above all else, Ron’s greatest joy was the people he loved. His unwavering love and devotion to Gina were the foundation of his life. He took great pride in his children’s accomplishments and especially cherished his grandchildren. Ron was a trusted friend and a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom. His kindness, generosity, resilience, and quiet strength touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at City of Hope for their extraordinary, cutting-edge, and compassionate care and support throughout Ron’s journey.
