The family is sad to announce the passing of Rob on October 15, 2018. Rob was a Bears fan and very athletic. His personality was comedic, quick-witted, sharp and animated with a dynamic personality with a successful career in sales. He loved hiking to the peak of Mount Charleston in Nevada. He enjoyed performing stand-up comedy, loved spending time with friends and family. He was a dedicated body builder and personal trainer, skilled runner with a plethora of ribbons and trophies. Rob moved to Las Vegas in 2005 for a fresh start and career in the entertainment industry. Survivors: beloved daughter, Cheyenne Tyler; grandson, Ayden; mother, Annette (Pat) Rainsford; sisters, Jennifer (Jerry) DeSha and Misty (Don) Woodford; nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Josie (Bosie), Mason and Danielle; many cousins, aunts, uncles. Rob considered Louis Johnson as his real dad. He also had a positive mentor, Tom Bengtson.
Preceded in death were his biological father, Robert J. Strand; Grandma and Grandpa Hopkins; and Uncle Richard Hopkins. In memory of Rob, we would like to come together and share stories from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, at the LeClaire Civic Club 127 S. Cody Road. Remember, behind every joke or quip, there could be a tortured soul.
