Richard Scott KingJune 23, 1951 – July 18, 2026Richard Scott King, 75, beloved husband, Coast Guard veteran, father and grandfather by love, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2026.Richard was born on June 23, 1951, in Bethesda, Maryland, to Charles and Mary King. He later made his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he built a life rich with family, work, and the many interests he pursued with passion.Richard proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. He went on to spend 27 years working as a stagehand with the iconic Las Vegas production Jubilee!, a career he genuinely loved.Richard had no shortage of interests. He was a scenic artist and he loved sailing, skiing, riding his motorcycle, reading, and bodybuilding. Whether through his work, his adventures, his creativity, or the people he welcomed into his life, Richard lived with curiosity and enthusiasm.Above all, Richard shared 17 wonderful years of marriage with Kathleen Ann, the love of his life. Their home became a gathering place for generations of family over the years, and Richard opened both his life and his home to Kathleen Ann's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Ann; his stepdaughters, Ginger Sweetan (Edward), Heather Sweetan (Kerry), and Robin Sweetan (Chris); his grandchildren, Dylan Wilkinson, Jesse Jensen, and Azure Strutton; and five great-grandchildren.Richard will be deeply missed by Kathleen Ann, his family, his friends, and all those whose lives became part of his own.
