Nicholas C. Odell

November 1, 1989 – July 14, 2026

Nicholas C. Odell, lovingly known as Nick, was born on November 1, 1989, and raised in Henderson, Nevada. He graduated from Foothill High School and went on to Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, where he earned his associate degree in business.

Nick had a deep appreciation for history and a passion for collecting coins and silver. He had an unwavering love for his country and found joy in dirt biking, snowboarding, and playing poker. He cherished time with the people he loved and adored his faithful dog, Ollie.

Those who knew Nick will remember him most for the way he made others feel. He had a contagious laugh that could fill a room and a gentle spirit that made those around him feel seen, valued, and safe. When you were with Nick, you felt like you were the only person who mattered. He had a kind heart, a generous soul, and loved his family fiercely.

Nick spent much of his life searching for direction, purpose, and peace. In the final chapter of his life, he found those things through his relationship with God and the community he found at Central Church. His faith became a source of hope, comfort, and strength.

Nick is survived by his parents, Juli Odell and Jerry Mayer; his brothers, Christopher Odell and Justin Mayer; his sisters, Jessika Odell Banks and Cherrial Odell; his grandmother, Rose Magnuson; his aunt, Kathi Nugent; his brother-in-law, Jake Banks; his sister-in-law, Alexandra; his nieces, Olive, Juniper, and Monroe; and his nephew, Shiloh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Odell; his grandfather, Alan Magnuson; his sister, Kristin Mayer; and his cousins, Joseph and Sean Nugent.

Nick’s life was not without hardship, but his struggles never defined him. They never took away his ability to love deeply, to show kindness, or to remind the people around him how much they meant to him. That love is the legacy he leaves behind.

Our hope is that those who remember Nick will choose to love fiercely, lead with kindness, offer grace instead of judgment, and extend compassion to others through every season of life. May his story remind us to reach out to those who are struggling, to never lose hope, and to recognize the humanity in everyone’s journey.

Above all, be unapologetically yourself—just as Nick always was.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at 231 W. Longacres, Henderson, NV 89015.

All who knew and loved Nick, and anyone whose life was touched by his, are invited to gather as we celebrate the life of a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Together, we will honor his memory, share stories, and remember the impact he had on those around him.
