Michael Wayne Wood

Michael (Mike) Wood was born in San Gabriel, CA, on July 26, 1962, to Fred and Mary Jane Wood. Mike had two younger brothers, Bill (Amy), Las Vegas, and Tom (Kandy), Las Vegas. He grew up in San Bernardino Valley, graduating from Ontario High School, where he played football.

After high school, Mike joined the army, where he served in the US Army, 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), serving primarily at Flint Kaserne in Bad Tolz, Germany, before receiving an honorable discharge for his service. Mike was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star while serving in the army.

Michael and Yonna were married on September 26, 2004. They have two children, Athena and Alex. Mike also has four other children: Michael (Megan), Victorville, Alicia, Chris, Las Vegas, and Angel, Las Vegas. He also has two grandchildren, Michael Jr. and Geniveve.

Mike was patriotic and was a firm believer in the Second Amendment. He loved cars and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Mike was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral Service will be held May 31st, noon-3 pm at 1525 Guilford Dr., Henderson, NV 89014

and will be interred, with honors, May 30th at 10:40 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV 89005.
