Jose “Boy” Nauta Camacho, 76, of Agat, passed away on May 20, 2020 in Las Vegas.
Boy, aka, Joe was born on the island of Guam to Maria Nauta and Jose San Nicholas Camacho on October 20, 1943.
Joe attended Father Duenas, served for the United States Air Force, attended with honors at De Anza College, graduated from San Jose State University and continued his educational path through various certifications. He worked for Wells Fargo Bank and was a very proud Vice President of several branches during his tenure. He was known for his outstanding customer service, attention to detail, managerial practices and was acknowledged on several occasions his for his kindness and natural ability to go the extra mile to help others. Even when he was young in Guam, he was an alter boy and enjoyed helping others. Once retired from the bank, Joe worked for Allied Transportation Services as the Vice President of Operations. Following his move to Las Vegas from the Bay Area, he enjoyed working at Nellis Airforce Base on the golf course and later finished his years of employment with Boyd Gaming through The Orleans Hotel and Casino as a Security Officer.
Joe had many interests. He was an avid golfer and bowler for most of his life. He was a part of the Chamorro Golf Classic of Northern California for some time. He participated in several traveling tournaments as well as golfed with his family and friends for fun. He also was on several islander leagues throughout his life.
Joe married Evelyn Perez Camacho in 1969. They both lived in Sunnyvale, California for over 30 years and then moved to Las Vegas to retire in 2000.
Joe is preceded in death by both his parents, brother David Nauta and sister Anne Marie Trautwein.
Joe is survived by his wife, Evelyn Perez Camacho, daughter Jolyn Ann Camacho Kinoshita and grandson Makana Camacho Kinoshita, sister Lola Salas, brother Anthony Camacho, sister Lillian Sablan and sister Bernadette Young.
Visitation/viewing will be at 11:00am, Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Davis Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm following the viewing. Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home.
The family of Joe wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the family and friends for their support and prayers during this time. They are well aware of the COVID-19 pandemic and understand the quarantine measures that are still in place. With limitations still in place for public gathers, they want to thank everyone for their prayers, NOVENAS and rosary’s taking place from the states to Guam to bring Joe home.
