Home Going Celebration for Jean Fuller Harper

Jean was born at Providence Hospital in Oakland, California on December 9th 1948 to the proud parents of McDonald Sr and Rita Matilda Fuller, who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of 4 children; Bennie Ray Nixon Sr., Maxine Fuller Calahan, and MacDonald Fuller Jr. who also preceded her in death.

She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor M.L. Bratcher, where she began singing.

She attended Madison Jr. High in 1963, went on to Castlemont High in 1966.

Her passion was singing and that she did. She would make the hair on the back of your neck stand up with such a beautiful voice.

She preformed at clubs such as Lady Esters, Esters Orbit Room and others, even opening up for The Whispers.

She also enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, dining out and relaxing.

They moved to Stockton in 1976 where she worked as a dental assistant. There, she reunited with her long time friend Eugene Harper, they got married in 1979, moved on to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1981.

Where she went to work at Valley Hospital, UMC in Medical Records, Pediatrics, Social Services, Administrative Assistant. She retired as a Labor Manager in Materials Management, after 27 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory 3 children; Leilani Smith, Derrick Smith and his wife Danielle and Regina Harper. 4 grandchildren, Errick Smith, Ariana Martin, Annalise Smith, Kannen Smith. 4 great grandchildren; Err’Ihmani Smith, Erick Smith Jr, Errion Smith, Eleijaah Smith.

In her union with Eugene her extended family; Tammie Harper Taylor, James Harper and his wife Regina, Malisha and Melanie Washington, Michele Walker, Dora Harper, Anylaah Jones.

4 nieces; Gloria Evans, Patricia RenFro, Adriene Nixon Richards, and Sandra Nixon who preceded her in death.

And a host of Relatives
And friends.
