Las Vegas

Jacky Serre, was born on Dec 22nd 1944.  He is the 4th of 10 brothers and sisters. He was mainly raised in military boarding school from an early age and would go home on vacation to help his dad and older brothers build the family house. Sports, hard work and discipline were introduced to him at a very young age. Being away from his family, he always had great memories of the time he spent with his brothers and sisters as well as his parents. He has a big pride in his family. He was also known for participating in the French championships in track and field.

Jacky grew up in the region of Lyon, France. He then joined the French military where he lived in Hao Tahiti French Polynesia for years and had an amazing time fishing and living the islander life.

He then moved to Djibouti Africa where he opened his first business, a high volume bakery for the French Army as well as locals. Him and his wife Marie Antoinette had their first born son Mathieu in 1976.

In 1978, they  moved back to France in the South where they had their daughter Amandine. They bought a property in the countryside and semi retired to raise their kids. This is where Jacky, being known for loving sports activities, taught his kids how to swim and take them to different swimming competitions as well as skiing, tennis, windsurf, bike riding and hunting.  "You're not a SERRE if you don't know how to swim all 4 strokes!"

In 1984, they decide to move to the USA to open a French restaurant in the San Jose California private airport as well as a French bakery in Danville California where they lived there for 2.5 years.

To learn English, he didn't hesitate to work as a cook in a County Club while opening his restaurant.

1986, they decide to go back to Tahiti French Polynesia to open different stores which the most popular was known as Broadway. Very popular store as it was the only liquor store open 24/7.

He also built himself vacation homes on the island of Moorea where the family would spend the weekends. Jacky was known for being very handy. He was also known for being funny as well as friendly and talked to everyone. He would always be helping others with his handy skills.

When his kids moved back to the USA to go study, he didn't hesitate to visit them to help them and encourage them in whatever venture they wanted to do.

He ended up living 6 months in the States and 6 months in Tahiti where Golf had become his new passion. He loved playing at the Golf of Moorea and of course Rhodes Ranch Las Vegas.

He ended up moving to Las Vegas in 2018 to be by his kids and grand children who he loved most.

Golf as well as  his kids and grand kids were his passion. Until the age of 78, Jacky was still remodeling homes for his kids and doing all the dirty work himself. His biggest regret, was not being able to play golf just one more time...
