Glen
Oelrich
Aug 7, 1948 — Jul 13, 2026
Glen Allen Oelrich was born on August 7, 1948, in Los Angeles, California. He was born to Robert and Beryl Oelrich.
As a child, Glen enjoyed exploring the outdoors with his brother Curtis and sister Pam, as well as the many visits to the natural and historical sites on family trips, that often included extended family. He enjoyed his time in Boy Scouts, where his father was a long time Scout Leader.
Glen’s interest in electronics began early. In 1984 he graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School with a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. Glen retired in 1992 after a distinguished military career in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. After retirement he worked in the private sector.
Glen will be remembered for his relentless pursuit of knowledge and enjoyment of life. Whether he was ballooning, leading motorcycle rides or taking extended education courses, he embraced the days he had.
Above all, he valued and loved his family. The joy in time spent with his children, sharing his knowledge with his grandchildren and watching his great grandchildren play, he quietly showed his love and appreciation for family.
The friendships he built over the years were valued by him. Those friendships gave him much that he held dear.
Glen is preceded in death by his father, Robert and mother Beryl, and his brother Curt.
Glen is survived by his children Heidi, Brooke and Micheal, his five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and his sister Pam.
His funeral service will be held in January. Date and time will be announced at a later date.
