Obituary

Erasmo Basoc Mabandos, 89, of Las Vegas, Nevada entered eternal life on May 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and comforted by his faith in God.

He was born on March 25, 1937, in Owao, Concepcion, Manay, Davao Oriental, Philippines, to Tirso and Andrea Basoc Mabandos. Raised with humble beginnings, Erasmo learned the importance of faith, honesty, humility, perseverance and hard work - values that guided him throughout his life.

After earning his Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Erasmo completed his Master's in Business Administration while working, reflecting his dedication to learning and personal growth. During his college years, he was an active speaker, event organizer, and student leader who enjoyed bringing people together and serving others.

In 1987, Erasmo immigrated to the United States with the hope of building a better future for his family. Through sacrifice, perseverance, and God's blessings, he achieved that dream. His family was always his greatest priority. He worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for his children and grandchildren and found joy in watching them grow and succeed.

Erasmo began his career as an accountant and later worked for an electric utility company in Las Vegas. He was admired for his honesty, intelligence, dependability and strong work ethic. Those who knew him will remember him as a caring and devoted family man with a calm presence, a generous heart, and a wonderful sense of humor.

He enjoyed life's simple pleasures - playing basketball and volleyball in his younger years, organizing community activities, ballroom dancing after retirement, traveling, sharing meals with loved ones, welcoming guests, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with those he loved.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Delia Mabandos; his children Cecelia Golez (John), Vincent Mabandos (Cristy), Aileen Mabandos Ruppe (John), Roy Mabandos (Eva), and Julius Mabandos (Kirsten); and his grandchildren, Joahna Claire, Matthew, Miguel, Veronica, John, Alejandra, Rei, EJ, Alayna, Mikayla, and Dominique. He loved them deeply, celebrated their accomplishments, and took great pride in their lives.

A devoted Catholic, Erasmo lived his faith through kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and service to others. he trusted God through both joyful and difficult times and remained a source of strength and love for his family.

Although his family mournes his passing, they are grateful for the life he lived, the love he shared, and the example he left behind. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Erasmos life during the Visitation on Friday, July 17, 2026, followed by the Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Davis Memorial Park (Eastern.)

The Mabandos family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, friendship, and support during this time of loss. Your kindness and compassion have brought comfort and strength to our family.
