Edeltraud Ackermann

July 14, 1935 — November 26, 2020

North Las Vegas

Mrs. Edeltraud Ackermann, 85, of Las Vegas, NV, most cherished and beloved wife of Fred E. Ackermann, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 surrounded by her husband and three sons.

Mrs. Ackermann was known as Trudi by her friends, and she had many because people were instantly drawn to her warm demeanor and kindness that wrapped her family and friends like a warm blanket.  No one was a stranger in Trudi's orbit, but more like a friend she hadn't yet met.

Trudi was born in Augsburg, Germany on July 14, 1935 to the late Jakob and Magdalena Knaupp.  She emigrated from her home country of Germany to the United States where she became an American citizen and settled in Colorado Springs, CO, where she eventually met and married her husband.

Trudi and her husband, Fred, and their children later moved to Reno, NV where they owned a dance studio.  After several years, they moved to Las Vegas, NV where, until her retirement, she worked as an optometric assistant.

Trudi is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Fred Ackermann; three sons:  Troy Ackermann, Daren Ackermann, and Curtis Ackermann; and daughters-in-law, Debra Ackermann and Jennifer Ackermann; six grandchildren, Ashley Lamb (Jeffrey) of Fargo, ND; Sheridan, Tristann, Joseph, Lily and Emery; and two great grandchildren, Reagan and Ryan of Fargo, ND.  They are heartbroken over their loss, yet comforted in knowing Trudi's suffering has come to an end and that she is in the arms of the Lord.  She will live on in the hearts of those who loved her so well and for so long.  Trudi is also survived by extended family members in Germany, Virginia and North Carolina.

A private graveside service was previously held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.  Father Dave Casaleggio officiated.  Davis Funeral Home, located at 1401 S. Rainbow Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89146 were entrusted with all of the final arrangements.

Those who wish to do so many make charitable donations, on behalf of Trudi Ackemann, to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
