Benjamin Kaholi Roldan, 49, passed away on April 2, 2020 at Centennial Hospital in
Las Vegas, Nevada. His cause of death was internal bleeding following Renal disease,
high blood pressure, and diabetes. Born on December 21, 1970 to George Roldan and
Yvonne Pōhaikealoha Kaholi he was raised in Kūlana Village in Ewa Beach, Oʻahu,
along with four brothers, George, Frank, Will, and Chadwick. Ben graduated from
James Campbell High School in 1988. After graduating, he worked at Chichis Mexican
Restaurant in Pearl Kai, then joined the painters union in 1994. He married Shantel
Quiocho in 1997. To this union, four children were born; Kaimana, Lokalia, Kalena, and
Kaenakapu. In 2003, they moved to Las Vegas where he continued in the painters
union, then worked for the City of Las Vegas as a painter until 2008. Ben founded the
808 Braddah Hood VW Club along with five close friends from Hawaiʻi. The club was
created to maintain close friendships with those from Hawaiʻi who shared the same
passion for old school VW bugs. In 2012, Ben and his family moved to Waimea,
Hawaiʻi. Here he spent his days deep sea fishing, spending time with his family and
brothers, George and Chadwick, and continuing his great love and passion for cooking.
In 2016, they moved back to Las Vegas, where Ben was known by many for selling his
ʻono “local” food on his facebook lives, “Uncle Bens Mo ʻOno Kitchen” and his great
hospitality. Ben has four grandchildren; Sonny, Storm, Kalei, and Summer Rae. His
funeral will be held at Davis Funeral home on 1401 Soft Rainbow Blvd. Las Vegas, NV
89146 from 10:00 AM-12:OO PM on June 26, 2021.
